About Omegametrix

Omegametrix gives access to the standardized fatty acid analytical method „HS-Omega-3 Index^®“. Since day one, Omegametrix has been working with and for the best universities, companies, organizations, doctors, check-up centers asf. with an interest in fatty acids. This generated numerous new insights, some of them fundamental, newly defining the relevance of fatty acids, and outdating some conventional wisdoms of nutrition, including the nomenclature. Omegametrix has redefined and fundamentally expanded the significance of fatty acids. More and more, this is also accepted in clinical routine, which is partly responsible for the continuous, sometimes exponential, growth of Omegametrix. In a logical way, scientific success therefore was followed by economic success. Omegametrix owes its success to many aspects, like patience, fortune, and the IZB.

What is your motivation?

The first and only standardized analytical method for fatty acids in the world „HS-Omega-3 Index®“ was invented, defined, and developed by the founder of Omegametrix and a collaborator. Measured are the levels of 26 fatty acids in erythrocytes. A cornucopia of new insights followed, since levels of fatty acids like EPA and DHA turned out to be relevant, much more so than intake of fatty acids. By now more is known about other individual fatty acids, like certain trans fatty acids. Measuring levels of fatty acids has turned into a gateway to knowledge, which is why our measurement become part of clinical routine. Generating knowledge and make this knowledge relevant – our driving force.
