So lassen sich Krankheitserreger, Biomarker und andere Zielmoleküle mit bislang laborähnlicher Sensitivität direkt am Point-of-Care nachweisen. Die Technologie ist als Upgrade für bestehende LFA-Produkte konzipiert und adressiert Anwendungen in In-vitro-Diagnostik, Life Sciences und darüber hinaus. Amplifold GmbH is a diagnostic startup based in Martinsried near Munich that develops next-generation ultrasensitive rapid tests. Using a proprietary DNA-origami platform, Amplifold amplifies the signal of conventional lateral flow assays by several orders of magnitude without changing their ease of use or cost advantages. This enables the detection of pathogens, biomarkers and other target molecules with near-laboratory sensitivity directly at the point of care. The technology is designed as an upgrade for existing LFA products and targets applications in in vitro diagnostics, life sciences and beyond.
