Die International Centers for Precision Oncology Foundation (ICPO) ist eine gemeinnützige Organisation, die 2019 nach deutschem Recht von führenden internationalen Medizinern und Life-Science-Unternehmern gegründet wurde. Gemeinsam mit weltweiten Partnern verfolgt die ICPO Foundation die Mission, ein internationales Netzwerk zertifizierter ICPO Centers of Excellence aufzubauen, indem sie Wissen und Standards in der Theranostik teilt.
Mit dem Ziel, ein nachhaltiges Wachstum des Patientenzugangs an jedem Zentrum zu gewährleisten, hat die ICPO Foundation die ICPO Academy for Theranostics entwickelt – eine erstklassige Online-Bildungsplattform für medizinisches Fachpersonal im Bereich der Theranostik. Darüber hinaus unterstützt die ICPO Foundation junge Talente durch Forschungsstipendien und pflegt eine starke, kollaborative Gemeinschaft, unter anderem durch die Organisation eigener virtueller und persönlicher Veranstaltungen. Damit treibt sie das Feld der Theranostik voran und verleiht der Stimme der Patienten Gehör.

The International Centers for Precision Oncology Foundation (ICPO) is a non-profit organization established in 2019 under German law by leading international medical practitioners and life sciences entrepreneurs. Together with partners worldwide, the ICPO Foundation is on a mission to establish an international network of certified ICPO Centers of Excellence by sharing knowledge and standards in Theranostics.
Aiming at sustainable patient access growth at each center, the ICPO Foundation has developed the ICPO Academy for Theranostics, a world-class online education platform dedicated to healthcare professionals active in Theranostics. Moreover, the ICPO Foundation supports young talents via research grants and nurtures a strong collaborative community, also by organizing its own virtual and in-person Events– advancing the field of Theranostics and listening to the patient voice.

Thema: Theranostik als eine neue Säule in der Onkologie
Diagnostische Radiotracer können Zielstrukturen auf der Oberfläche von Tumorzellen identifizieren, woraufhin der Einsatz leicht modifizierter therapeutischer Radiopharmazeutika folgt. In den letzten Jahren wurde ein solcher theranostischer Ansatz (als Kombination aus „Therapie“ und „Diagnostik“) in den Behandlungsalgorithmus verschiedener Tumorentitäten aufgenommen, darunter Prostatakrebs oder neuroendokrine Tumoren des Gastrointestinaltrakt.
Nach der Einführung dieses innovativen „See-and-Treat“-Konzepts wird dieser Vortrag einen Überblick über die theranostischen „Blockbuster“ in der klinischen Routine geben und einen Ausblick auf neue, aufstrebende Zielstrukturen (Targets) bieten. Dabei wird hervorgehoben, welches Potenzial die Theranostik besitzt, um die onkologische Landschaft der Zukunft maßgeblich umzugestalten.

Topic: Theranostics as a Novel Pillar in Oncology
Diagnostic radiotracers can identify target structures on the tumor cell surface, which is then followed by the use of slightly modified therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals. In recent years, such a theranostic approach (as a combination of “therapy” and “diagnostics”) has been included in the treatment algorithm of different tumor entities, including prostate or neuroendocrine cancers of the gastrointestinal region. After introducing this innovative “see-and-treat” concept, this talk will then give an overview on theranostic “block-busters” in clinical routine and provide a forecast on novel emerging targets, thereby highlighting how theranostics has the potential to re-shape the oncology landscape in the future.
